By using QAL Pro, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Use of Google Gemini for Auto-Categorization of Applications: QAL Pro offers an optional “Auto-Tag using AI” feature that relies on Google’s Gemini API to suggest categories (tags) for the applications installed on your Mac. When you trigger this action, QAL Pro assembles a plain-text list that contains, for each detected application: the application’s display name (e.g., “Safari”), the application’s bundle identifier (e.g., “com.apple.Safari”). The list is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection directly to Google’s Gemini service, together with a predefined set of category names. No other information is transmitted. Gemini analyzes the list and returns a JSON payload that associates each bundle identifier with suggested categories. QAL Pro does not collect the resulting data. Google may retain request and response data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Also, when QAL Pro calls the Gemini API, Google records standard operational metrics (for example, the number of requests made and the dates on which those requests occur). As the owner of the Gemini API key, I can view these usage statistics.
